Disability Programs and Training (D.P.T.) is committed to providing services, programs, and training resources for individuals of all ages who need assistance in gaining full independence regardless of disability.
​Independent Living Skills
We teach the skills necessary to thrive with minimal assistance, live independently, connect with the resources needed to maintain gainful employments which lead to individual income, and be included in the community with other peers.

We aim to educate our community using different teaching techniques and settings:
– Group Setting
– One – on – One
– Workshops
– Assistive Technology

The programs, services and training for these groups include teaching of resources and training necessary to improve employ-ability skills. Individuals participate in workshops to help enhance on resume writing, career exploration, and interviewing skills. Assistance will be provided for those receiving Social Security Administration (SSA), and needing to sign up for the Ticket to Work Program, and other related benefits counseling.
Lobby on behalf of the community or individuals to obtain public services locally, through the state and nationally and those that may have a specific need, and intervene in crisis related situations, while teaching the tools necessary to be your own best self-advocate in different areas of life. It all starts with knowing your rights by educating the community on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and more.

YOUTH-LED DISCUSSIONS AND WORKSHOPS
These youth led discussions are aimed to move the conversation forward. Using a Peer Mentoring Model Program, participants will be able to express their ideas and concerns in a safe environment free of judgement, be paired with a mentor, and participant in groups and workshops geared towards Self-Development, Disability Awareness, Community Supports, Life after High School and more.

Our goal is to assist our clients with connecting to valuable community resources necessary to obtain and maintain their independence and be fully included in the community. We offer connections to:
